Coach, I still don't get it.

Usually first-ticket hall of famers carve out a nice coaching career for themselves after their playing days are over.  Apparently, nobody gave that hammer and chisel to Isiah Thomas.  Let’s see.  VP of the Raptors, an indecipherable stint at commentating, Pacers coach, Knicks coach, throw in some sexual harassment, Knicks VP, Knicks self eating Ebola virus, OD’ing on sleeping pills, and now….the head coach of your Florida International University Golden Panthers! Give it up everybody!!  Woo!  ….(cricket. cricket)….

A source said Thomas was intrigued by FIU’s location in South Florida, its growing football program and the size of its student body.

Wait, what?  Its growing football program?  Zeke, are you drunk?  Basketball.  You were hired to coach basketball.

A fresh start for Thomas awaits at FIU, which could clearly use a spark. The Golden Panthers have lost 20 games in three of the last four years.

Ummmmm, I don’t know how much of a spark Isiah is going to offer up if he’s running end arounds on in the paint.  Of course, if a spark to a powder keg of disappointment is what your school is looking for, then yes, you’ve found your General Custer.
