Because we are inquisitive, we love to click on articles that pose a question. People that own news agencies know this. That is why we get: Did Jesus even exist? Is Obama actually a Muslim? Could Cheetos kill you? Is Brett Favre for fucking serious? Usually these articles don’t tell you anything factual. They are there so you click on them and allow the site to get its ad revenue. This article has all the ingredients of a completely worthless article.
Is the cougar trend a myth? A study of online dating profiles finds women are looking for men of their age or older.
Oooo! How interesting. Well, until you think about it for 2 seconds. A cougar doesn’t want to date a boy toy, she wants to have sex with him when she wants to have sex with him. That’s it. Of course she is not looking for him on dating sites. But mother effer! I already clicked on the link and now have to go through 3 paragraphs of words that tell me nothing, meanwhile the news site got what it needed out of me. I feel used.
Aspiring cubs may want to stop reading: The cougar phenomenon is a lie, according to researchers.
Boom! Nail in the coffin! It’s a LIE! … Except that it isn’t. Paragraph 3 takes care of that.
Now, all that said, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t “cougars” out there — they just aren’t all that common, at least not on mainstream dating sites. The study also has a major blind spot: All the hooking up and dating that is facilitated offline. That’s an area researchers will have to explore if they want to truly debunk the cougar myth — after all, she supposedly isn’t on the prowl for a long-term mate but fresh young meat.
Uhhhhh, so why did you even post this article? A third of your article refutes what you proclaim from on high in the beginning of it. WTF.
