Cry Me A River

Some ideas are just bad

Actions have consequences.  If you’re not ready to be accountable, I suggest you rethink embarking on those actions.  That goes for sailing as well as reproducing.

The family of failed teen solo sailor Abby Sunderland says they cannot afford to pay for her rescue.  Her mother, Marianne Sunderland, who is pregnant with the family’s eighth child, said the family did not have the $300,000 necessary to compensate Australian rescue officials, the Courier Mail reported.

Don’t worry ma’am.  Society’s got it.  Keep popping babies out and letting your 16-year old daughter do something that Magellan couldn’t even accomplish without dying.  We feel for you.

Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said the government would not be seeking reimbursement for the cost of the rescue.

Lucky you, Marianne.  But hey, don’t look at me!  Kids #6 and 7 just ran out your back door.  Go keep an eye on them!
