The Age Old Argument

by Commodore on May 20, 2010

Always a productive argument

“My God is better than your God.”  It never gets old, does it?  Ra, Thor, Apollo, Zeus, Yahweh, Allah, and on and on.  Nope, out of all these make believe things, the one I believe in is the “correct” one.  The argument is as immaterial as dreams and about as airtight as a screen door and yet…leaders still use it with 100% conviction.

Mark Williams, chairman of the Tea Party Express, blogged about the 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center planned at Park Place and Broadway, calling it a monument to the 9/11 terrorists.  “The monument would consist of a Mosque for the worship of the terrorists’ monkey-god.”

The terrorists’ monkey-god.  Hmm, what possible blowback could there be?  It’s not like the fanatical Muslims react over aggressively to insults towards their God or his prophet.  They’re quite level headed about it.  And what would the Muslims call your God, Mr. Williams, if they based their opinion solely on the actions of George W. Bush and his religious spoken drivel that justified those actions?

Oh wait I forgot, your god is the “right” god.  My b.  Well, now that you got the god thing taken care of Mark, how’s about you read some factual history books to round you off.
