What The Hell Is Going On In China?

by Commodore on September 14, 2009

The end is near.

The end is near.

Mutations are supposed to cause things to deviate, marginally.  An extra finger here.  An extra toe there.  But never should you grow something that is not part of your phylum.  i.e. snakes should not be growing clawed feet!

“I woke up and heard a strange scratching sound. I turned on the light and saw this monster working its way along the wall using his claw,” said Mrs Dean of Suining, southwest China.

Is anyone else dry heaving at the horror of that statement?  I would rather spend a week vacation in the insane asylum on Shutter Island than deal with what Mrs. Dean dealt with.

A more common mutation among snakes is the growth of a second head, which occurs in a similar way to the formation of Siamese twins in humans.   Such animals are often caught and preserved as lucky tokens but have very little chance of surviving in the wild anyway, especially as the heads have a tendency to attack each other.

Jesus Christ!  Snakes are no joke.  We definitely need to put a stop to them hanging on to walls by their talons, otherwise it’s all over for us.  Good job Mrs Duan.  Now you might want to move away from whatever leaking radioactive powerplant your house abuts.
