On a daily basis, I’m sure police chiefs have to put out more fires than they would like and their ability to handle PR has to be sound. This might be Tom Sweet’s first fire.

Glenrock Police Chief Tom Sweet says two officers “probably didn’t do things the best way” when they used a Taser on Bud Grose, a 76-year-old man, driving an antique tractor in a parade. State investigator Tim Hill has said the two officers contend Grose disobeyed orders.

Mind you, this happened in Glenrock, Wyoming. Now I have nothing personal against Glenrock, Wyoming but was this the first crime ever committed there? Unless those officers’ orders were, “Mr. Grose, please remove your foot from the president’s neck and point the gun away from his head”, then I think these cops might have overreacted a bit.

“Those two were the most out-of-control officers I’ve ever seen in my life,” said Scott McWilliams, a witness who said he was shoved by one of the officers.

Jesus. Did Rip Fuel just make it to Wyoming? I think someone needs to start committing some capital crimes over there to teach the law enforcement boys about orders of magnitude and fitting responses before someone gets their head blown off for loitering. WTF.
