On apology is a plate best served up late, apparently.

The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a resolution apologizing to African-Americans for the wrongs of slavery.

Wow.  It only took 150 years!  I got an apology note from Santiago (the building manager in my apartment complex) the day they were shutting off the hot water for 2 hours, let alone enslaving an entire race for centuries.  That’s it Senate?  I’m sorry?

The nonbinding resolution sponsored by Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, acknowledged the wrongs of slavery but offered no reparations.

Wow.  There are olive branches and then there are rotting sticks mushed together with scotch tape and snot.  This one was the latter.  An apology 150 years late is like finding a gold bar in your pocket on the day you die, only to find out that you can’t give that gold bar to anyone because it was a rectangular piece of styrofoam painted yellow.
